About Jesse

Jesse Barnett is a New York City based dancer and Pilates instructor. Jesse grew up studying dance in his hometown of Yorktown, Virginia where he was introduced to Pilates through his classical dance training. Like many dancers, he originally practiced Pilates along with other movement modalities as a way to improve his technique, but Pilates has since become a major focus in its own right. After graduating with a BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College, Jesse became a certified Pilates instructor through The Kane School, where he was trained in contemporary Pilates approaches, including training in movement anatomy, biomechanics, touch techniques, and special populations.

He has since become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioining Association, and he has certifications in pre/post natal fitness and TRX Suspention Training. Jesse has built an eclectic clientele from all walks of life, encompassing a full range of demographics and abilities. Jesse also has experience working with referrals from physical therapists as a way of supplementing the rehabilitative process.
